The annual "Bon Fest" held in Scotland every year, which originated in 2006 by a local non exclusive volunteer only community group DD8 Music, has now grown into a festival that lasts two days and nights drawing attendance from AC/DC fans all over the world. Bon Scott's early roots were in Kirrimeuir and DD8 Music is leading an effort
to have a statue erected there in his honor.
The campaign in support for having the Bon Scott statue approved is underway and further information may be found on the "
Bon Scott Statue Kirriemuir" Facebook page where worldwide AC/DC fans are encouraged to subscribe, as well as the
DD8 Music website.
In 2005, a plaque was laid in Kirriemuir in tribute of Bon.
