It all started with an uncle of mine. Jim Jack was his name, and he was my mom's brother. When he was younger, he used to jam to the Back in Black album religiously, and it was something he always loved.
My Uncle Jim died of cancer back in June of 2001 when I was in the 3rd grade, and it was a real blow to my family seeing that he was only in his thirties. It was a total shock to me seeing that, at the time, I was pretty young and had never lost a family member before.
That Christmas my mom gave me (a kid who, at the time, was into Eminem but getting more into punk rock like Green Day) gave me my first rick n roll CD - Back In Black. At first I didn't really know what to do with it, but she told me how my uncle used to listen to them all he time.
A few years went by, and I was looking for something new to listen to. I happened to come across the album and decided to give it a whirl, and I don't think I took it out of my CD player for three months! Everyday I would listen to Back In Black and Shook Me before school, and eventually I started listening to other tracks until I feel in love with the whole album.
For me, AC/DC is more than just some awesome band. They make me wanna just grab my guitar and rock for hours, and it makes me feel closer to a family member I never really got to know that much.
Thanks if you took some time to read this... kinda sappy and all, but it is what it is!
