AC/DC were awarded their very first Diamond Award from the RIAA for their 1980 "Back In Black" album for sales exceeding 10 million copies in the United States on March 16, 1999. Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams accepted the award during a ceremony that took place in at The Roseland Ballroom in New York City. In 2004, the band received their second Diamond award for "Back In Black" which had exceeded sales of 20 million copies. "Back In Black" is now approaching 23 million copies sold in the USA alone, and 50 million copies worldwide, placing it as the best selling rock album of all time.
