This album is fantastic. I'v got the standard version and the other day I found a copy of the 2 disc tour edition on eBay. Its main claim to fame is that it had music videos and all on it.
Ill review the2 disc edition here.
The first disc (same as the standard album) is great. It's not the best AC/DC album but its got a real nice groove to it. Satellite Blues is my favorite song to get in a real accadacca groovin' mood. Safe in New York City is a real rockin' song along with the title track.
Now the second disc...
I was disappointed. The live tracks aren't mixed very well, the crowd is too loud and it sounds a lot like some of my bootlegs that iv got. The videos are also disappointing. Its a little flash animation with a very low quality version of a couple of the music videos. Overall i'm still satisfied with the album, the 2 disc edition is great for collectors of AC/DC memorabilia, like myself. Ill let the second disc slide seeing as it was early 2000, a time when flash was still being experimented with and wasn't as good as it is now.
Overall I give the album 7.5/10
AGUANTE ACDC Y ARGENTINA LOKO A MORIR!! ACA IDOLOS SON BERSUIT VERGARABAT, CHARLY GARCIA, LA 25 , INTOXICADOS, VIEJAS LOCAS, PERO ACDC ESTA ARRIBA DE TODO OJALA QUE NUNCA SE DESARME ESTE GRUPO QUE HACE EL MEJOR ROCK DEL MUNDO!! ACDC ES UN SENTIMIENTO!!!
In 2000 AC/DC released Stiff Upper Lip. Here we have a return to greatness. After a five-year hiatus, the longest of their career at that point, AC/DC crank up the volume to eleven and rock better than they have in a decade. The big improvement seems to be the production value. The guitars and vocals seem crisp and clean, and the blues element works in perfect harmony with the power that AC/DC conjures.
When listening for something outstanding, I’d say that the title track, with its clever into qualifies. The classic style of rhyming and word play (Stiff upper lip- shoot from the hip) is also present here. “Safe In New York City” has an amazing buildup, and ain’t nobody but these guys can repeat “I Feel Safe in New York City” eight times in a row get away with it. And if you’re aching for a solid wall-rattling anthem to vent all your frustration, “Damned” gives you just the right opportunity; it’s one of their best piss-off declarations in years. The satellite junkies will also be pleased with “Satellite Blues.” A great beat with some nice bass licks forms the basis for “Satellite Blues.” The song delves deep into the annoyances of losing your porn reception with a satellite dish. Would you expect anything else from these aging rockers?
The beautiful thing about this album is how solid it is. Not a weak spot to be found through the twelve songs. You don’t get blazing fast, balls to the wall AC/DC, but you get a band with great rhythm and sound. This is one of their finest albums. Shows after twenty-seven years of rock and roll (1973-2000) you can still take on the best. I highly recommend this album.
Great album, as I know this is the most slow saling AC/DC album, a comiracle failure, but criticly positive, hard to rate this, because it has some very great riff's but some simple tunes Favourite songs ,,Stiff Upper Lip", ,,House of the Jazz", ,,Safe in New York City", ,,You Can't Stop Rock'n Roll"
Let there be Rock - The Movie - Live in Paris part 2
i love....stiff uper lip
Stiff Upper Lip and Safe in NYC are my favorites off this album but no songs off this album will be played by my band.
Genres: Hard Rock, Blues Rock, Roots Rock
A Huge Disapiontment, How Could You AC/DC, Still A Killer Blues Album, But "Stiff Upper Lip" (2000) Is Too Soft For An AC/DC, Just Like Rob Zombie, Slipknot, Alice Cooper, Mötley Crüe, Aerosmith (Oh Wait They Have), Van Halen, Sammy Hagar & Korn Would Never Make This Type Of rock n roll/blues album!! But Thank Angus theres no corny power ballad!! Angus Young, Brian Johnson, Cliff Williams, Malcolm Young & Phil Rudd would never allow that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Neither would Bon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
