Philippe was born and raised in Belgium but now lives in France "for the job and other dirty deeds." he says. Exactly 20 years ago, when Philippe was the age of 12 he first heard "Thunderstruck" on Belgian radio and he has been an AC/DC fan ever since. "It was so much more energizing than any other songs we heard on the radio back then. My friends made me discover the LIVE album that came out in the same year 1992 and we had some serious fun with listening to it. We even play-backed TNT at a local soundmixshow".
Philippe names "Powerage" as his favorite AC/DC album and "Live Wire" as his favorite song. "Powerage is a classic album. And Live Wire remains my all time favorite song of the band, very characteristic for AC/DC 's sound. It has also one Angus' most powerful solos in it. Unfortunately I never had the chance to hearing it live."
Philippe is founding editor of the AC/DC Bedlam in Belgium blog, tells Philippe "Living in Belgium, I thought it would make sense to have a fan site specifically written for Belgian fans. The idea grew by curiosity to find out what exactly happened in Belgium back in 1977 because the band later recorded "Bedlam in Belgium". So I started gathering some witnesses to shed some light on the unfortunate event. (read it here.)
When asked what makes AC/DC his favorite band Philippe explains "Being a guitar player myself, I just love listening to guitar music. What makes AC/DC so different is the sincere level of energy they put in their music: Phil steadily hitting the snare, Brian singing from the bottom of every cell in his body, Malcolm hammering those power chords, Cliff plucking the 4-strings and Angus fiddling away fabulous lead guitar. It all makes sense. Listening to the band's music is incredibly energizing: it gives you an extra spark to pimp your day. It's also the perfect excuse to party!" ..."Looking forward to seeing you on the next live shows! Long live Rock 'n Roll!"
