AC/DC Fan Of The Month: Henk Ekerhovd (Sotra, Norway)
Our April 2012 AC/DC fan of the month is Henk Ekerhovd, an AC/DC fan from Sotra Norway which is near Bergen. For Henk, AC/DC isn’t a hobby but a lifestyle, his motto is “An AC/DC day is a good day”. Henk’s passion for AC/DC began in the early 1980’s, he heard “You Shook Me All Night Long” and from then on he was hooked. Henk is known to be a great AC/DC fan around Bergen, last October he traveled to the AC/DC fanmeeting in Geiselwind, Germany and a local popular newspaper in Bergen, BA did an interview with him about his passion for the band.

Henk’s favorite AC/DC album would be “Powerage” but he also has a weakness for “Highway To Hell” which comes in a close second. Choosing a favorite AC/DC song proves to be more difficult, Henk says "AC/DC don't have bad songs, just that some are better than others". It was 1996 when Henk attended his first AC/DC concert during the “Ballbreaker” world tour, and he has seen AC/DC live on every tour since then, all over Europe and multiple times during each tour. Henk explains that each concert has its own unique experience and that every show is different because of that. He also traveled to Glasgow earlier this year to see the AC/DC Family Jewels Exhibition before it left for the USA.

Henk is an AC/DC collector and has a great collection of AC/DC items, his favorites being picture disks which he has framed and hanging on the wall, as well as a framed poster of AC/DC’s Hells Bell hanging over the bed. Henk is also a guitar player and he loves to play AC/DC every day he is home, playing his Gibson SG through a Marshall half stack set up in his living room, you can say he is making some noise but he says “Rock and roll ain’t noise pollution!”. Henk has 4 AC/DC tattoos, a small one of Angus on his leg, a “Highway To Hell” portrait of Angus, “Let There Be Rock”, and most recently (this month) a portrait of Malcolm on his left arm. Henk and his fiancé have a daughter, soon to be age 15 who has shown an interest in AC/DC since she was very young and was the only child in kindergarten with AC/DC songs on her CD. Henk’s love for AC/DC is always rubbing off on other people wherever he goes.

Henk is also one of the founders of the AC/DC fan club Norway group on Facebook, the group welcomes AC/DC fans worldwide.
