AC/DC are coming back to Cleveland, OH!

HELLOOOO CLEVELAND!

AC/DC may or may not have said those immortal words at any of the nineteen gigs they’ve played in Cleveland since their first appearance in the city on August 12, 1977 at the Cleveland Convention Center where they supported Michael Stanley Band with an attendance of over 9,000 fans.

They’ve since gone on to play the Agora Ballroom on August 22, 1977, the Palace Theater on September 16, 1978, the Music Hall on May 20, 1979, the Lakefront Stadium on July 28, 1979 (with an epic line-up that consisted of Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Journey and Thin Lizzy), the Public Hall in October 1979 and again in 1980, Richfield Coliseum 7 times from 1981 through 1991, the Gund Arena four times from 1996 to 2001 and the last time they played Cleveland was at Quicken Loans Arena 7 years ago on January 5, 2009.

The set list from that night is below:

Rock 'n' Roll Train
Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be
Back in Black
Big Jack
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Thunderstruck
Black Ice
The Jack
Hells Bells
Shoot to Thrill
War Machine
Anything Goes
You Shook Me All Night Long
Whole Lotta Rosie
Let There Be Rock
Encore:
Highway to Hell
For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)

In 2003, AC/DC were inducted into Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with The Clash, Elvis Costello and The Attractions, The Police and The Righteous Brothers. Steven Tyler of Aerosmith presented the band their award and said in his speech, “Here's to the Holy Grail of it all; here's to the highway to hell.  May we have as much fun there as we had getting there.”
