AC/DC return to NYC!

AC/DC will return to New York City on September 14th to play their 13th show at Madison Square Garden and their 18th show in the city.

Their first ever shows were on the same night August 24, 1977 at The Palladium and CBGB’s.

At the Palladium, they opened for The Dictators and played the following set:

  • Live Wire

  • She's Got Balls

  • Problem Child

  • The Jack

  • High Voltage

  • Whole Lotta Rosie

  • Baby, Please Don't Go

  • At their second show that night at CBGB’s, they only played 2 tracks live:

  • Live Wire

  • She’s Got Balls

AC/DC has a long history and a real affinity with NYC having homaged it in their ‘Safe in New York City’ track from their 2000 album Stiff Upper Lip. The cover of the single also shows a statue of Angus Young in front of the World Trade Center and the video shows the band playing in a New York tunnel.

The video from 1985’s Fly on the Wall takes place at a small bar in New York City named The Crystal Ballroom.

And many of the band’s albums were worked on in The Big Apple. 1980’s Back in Black was mixed at Electric Ladyland Studios and many of their albums were mastered/digitally remastered at Sterling Sound in NYC. Their 1977 Live from the Atlantic Studios was recorded at the Atlantic Recording Studios in New York.  And whilst it didn’t end up being recorded in NYC, production for Ballbreaker started at Record Plant Studios.
