August's AC/DC fan of the month is Billy Rauff from Long Island, New York, USA. Billy has been an AC/DC fan since 1980 and has seen the band live on every tour since the "For Those About To Rock" tour in 1981, and for most tours he has seen AC/DC multiple times.
Billy cites "Let There Be Rock" as his favorite AC/DC album, and the title track of the same album as his favorite AC/DC song, but is quick to state that he loves ALL of the albums and songs.
When asked what makes him a fan of the band "their shoot from the hip attitude, the fact that they don't change anything about the way they make music just to fit in with the times, the straight forward ROCK 'N ROLL music they make and the fact that no matter how bad you may be feeling, once you put an AC/DC song on you can bet your gonna be tappin' your foot, snapping your fingers or clapping your hands and by the first 5 seconds of any of their songs it's gonna bring a smile to your face."
Billy has met AC/DC 3 times, and also owns an impressive memorabilia collection, including gold records and 14 autographed albums. Billy also appears in AC/DC's "Stiff Upper Lip" video from 2000, is in the AC/DC Fannation documentary and was leader of the New York Caravan in 2008, and plays drums in the AC/DC tribute band LIVE WIRE http://www.acdctributeband.com
Last but not least, Billy has an AC/DC tattoo that takes up 3/4 of his back, he says "now that's dedication!"
