AC/DC Fan Of The Month: Nate Althoff (Fargo, North Dakota, USA)

Our November 2012 AC/DC Fan of the Month is Nathan George Althoff, a die-hard AC/DC fan that lives in Fargo, North Dakota, in the North-central region of the USA. Nate is known across the AC/DC community as 'BigNate' by fellow AC/DC fans and has been a fan of the band for 25 years now. Nate tells of his first introduction to AC/DC "I first remember hearing my brother play TNT in the mid 80's, so I would have been around 8-9 years old. Everything changed in 1990 when the Razor's Edge came out and I could afford to buy cassettes for myself and I really got into the band."
Nate has so far seen AC/DC 4 times in concert: Las Vegas 2000, Salt Lake City 2001, St Paul 2008 and Milwaukee 2010.

When asked what makes AC/DC his favorite band Nate reveals "I think what makes AC/DC my favorite band is their consistency in the quality of songs over the years. Whether you listen to something from High Voltage, Back in Black, Stiff Upper Lip or any of the albums, you can tell it's an AC/DC song by the soul and power that comes through. I'd also have to say their live shows are a big reason as well. Even though the set lists don't change much, I have never seen a band play their music live as well as AC/DC or look like they love playing live and really enjoy being on stage."

Nate chooses "Powerage" as his favorite AC/DC album "with Highway To Hell close behind" he says. "Most of my favorite songs are from the Bon era, including Live Wire, Whole Lotta Rosie, If You Want Blood, Gone Shootin, & Walk All Over You."
Like many die-hard AC/DC fans, Nate also enjoys collecting AC/DC memorabilia and has accumulated a large collection of 350+ items that he started back in the early 1990's of vinyl, CD's, cassettes and many other random things. Nate also runs his own AC/DC website "I started an AC/DC website back in 2003 documenting the live shows AC/DC has put on over the years at www.acdc-bootlegs.com that has grown into a great community for AC/DC fans and also run a site dedicated to the live video recordings at www.acdc-videos.com ."
