AC/DC Flick Of The Switch Tour Begins October 11, 1983
October 11th, 1983 the North American leg of AC/DC's "Flick Of The Switch" World Tour begins, kicking off at the PNE Coliseum in Vancouver, BC Canada. This would also be AC/DC's first show with then new drummer Simon Wright behind the kit, replacing Phil Rudd at the time. The show would open with Angus standing high above the massive walls of speakers, unleashing a blazing guitar solo introduction before bringing the band into "Guns For Hire". The North American leg of the tour would wrap up at Madison Square Garden in New York on December 19th. AC/DC would continue to tour in August 1984, performing a series of European "Monsters Of Rock" stadium shows with Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Dio and Motley Crue, including their 2nd return as headliner to Donington Park's Monsters Of Rock festival as well as a handful of arena shows.
